This year 1 of the programme; “L5 Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Principles” provides an excellent grounding of both theory and practical skills, required to remove and replace various components across a range of systems, as detailed in the contents section.

Year 2 of the programme; “L7 Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Principles” focuses on the knowledge and skills required to diagnose and rectify complex faults in major vehicle systems. Where by successful completion will lead to attainment of 2x industry recognised qualifications for the motor trade.

Both the L5 and L7 Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Principles programmes, form part of the light vehicle technician modern apprenticeship route. Where attaining either, or both of these, qualifications on a full-time basis, will simplify a modern apprenticeship route within industry.

With the changes in industry towards electrical and hybrid vehicle technology you will also covers a new unit in Electric and Hybrid vehicle technology, ensuring you have the base knowledge for working safely on these vehicles.

Similar to all other programmes the course includes the relevant core skills Numeracy, Communications and ICT Information and Communication Technology, as typically required for modern apprenticeship attainment.
