This course is for you if you are actively working or volunteering with community groups and organisations. It gives you the opportunity to gain credit and recognition for the skills, qualities and learning gained through your experience.

You will learn:
Community learning and development: Principles and Practice; Learning Approaches; Group Work; Social Science Approaches; Workplace Practice; Youth Work; Community Capacity Building; Group Award Graded Unit.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers including English or relevant NC (Level 6). Minimum of 120 hours of community based practice. Interview and writing task.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.

Progression Routes

Relevant degree programme at university or employment, working with vulnerable groups in society and in the voluntary sector.
