Content

The PDA Occupational Therapy Support has been designed to provide a flexible progression route from relevant HNCs at SCQF Level 7 for individuals currently employed as support workers within occupational therapy. Four differing pathways provide content and learning relevant to previous qualification.

You will study 3 units of the following: Protection of individuals from harm and abuse; Understanding and supporting behaviour; Occupational therapy support: audit; Psychology / sociology in healthcare; Anatomy and physiology for support workers; Core concepts of occupational therapy (all learners).

Assessment is continuous, with a mix of practical and theoretical assessments.

Entry Requirements

Employment as a support worker in occupational therapy. Previous health or social care related qualification at SCQF Level 7.

Progression Routes

BSc Hons Occupational Therapy, BA/DipHE Education: Education and Social Services or employment as an assistant practitioner.
