Content

This course aims to provide integrated knowledge, theory and practice to equip you to work effectively with individuals - children and young people, with additional support needs.

Subjects include: Principles of Practice; Theoretical Approaches to Learning; The Effects on Human Development; Graded Unit, Learning Approaches; Practical placement with children or adults who have additional support needs.

There is continuous assessment with a mix of practical and theoretical assessments.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers, preferably including English, or Foundation Apprenticeship Social Services (Children and Young People), or NQ Social Care (Level 6) or NC Early Education and Childcare (Level 6), or SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 5 or 6. Interview.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
