There is a high level of self directed study and students are required to undertake work experience as part of the course. Students are required to practise treatments on members of the public throughout the course.
Core units include: Management and practices of facial and body therapies; Anatomy and physiology of the human body; Employment experiences 1 and 2; Contemporary electrotherapy; Product knowledge; Electro cosmetic therapy; Lifestyle advice for clients; Preparing and presenting a business plan; Principles and practices of selling; Graded units 1 and 2; Reflexology; Contemporary aesthetic treatments; Electrical epilation; Body massage; Facial treatments; Spa therapies; Make-up for special occasions.
2 Highers, preferably English; or Beauty Therapy (City and Guilds) Level 3. Entry by interview. Students are required to practise treatments on members of the pblic throughout the course.
Degree level study in complementary therapies.
