Contemporary fine art encompasses a diverse range of approaches to creative expression, including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media, multimedia, video, sound, installation, etc. This exciting course provides an opportunity to develop knowledge and creative skills in contemporary fine art practice.

Year 1:
Induction Project; Visual Exploration; 2D Project (Painting, Printmaking and Digital Art Form); 3D Project (Sculpture); Visual Arts Practice; Contemporary Art: Three Dimensional Practices; Self Directed Project; Drawing (including Life Drawing).

Year 2:
Induction Project; Personal Project; Artworks for Environments; Contemporary Art Practice; Project; Portfolio Preparation; Drawing (including Life Drawing).

Entry Requirements

2 Highers including Art and Design, English preferred, National 5 English (if not held at Higher); or Foundation Apprenticeship Creative and Digital Media plus Higher Art and Design; or NC Art and Design; or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6.

For stage 1 you will be required to submit a digital folio of recent work. For stage 2 you will be expected to bring a portfolio of recent work along to interview.

Progression Routes

BA Art and Design at Forth Valley College or other degree programme at art college or university.
