Would you like to learn how things are made? Are you looking for a career in manufacturing? On this course you will learn both traditional and modern manufacturing processes with the accompanying theory. You will also learn the fundamentals of CNC and Computer aided Draughting. Your year will culminate with an engineering project where you can manufacture a product using our 3D printers.

Communication core skill unit; Mathematics: Technician 1; Engineering: Applying information technology; CNC machining; Computer Aided Draughting (CAD) for Engineers; Engineering dimensional control; Engineering materials; Engineering material removal principles; Engineering workshop skills; Graphical engineering communications; Material removal practice: Milling; Material removal practice: Turning.
3 subjects at National 5 including Maths and a science or technological subject, or NC Manufacture Engineering (Level 5), or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5.
Relevant HNC or HND, or an apprenticeship in the Mechanical, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Aerospace and Ship Building sectors.
