HNC Counselling is designed to provide the opportunity to further develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes relevant to the theory and skills practice of working with people and counselling within an encouraging and supportive environment.

At the HNC level it is recommended that you undertake some voluntary work in the helping professions relevant to counselling to build up your experience base.

Entry Requirements

Relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Applicants will need to evidence learning ability through the submission of a short written reflective task (500 words) that will be set by the college.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
