This course will give you the underpinning knowledge, practical coaching skills and relevant qualifications to work within the football industry or a sports related field. It can also be used to progress to higher education.

It aims to develop a pathway/certification for football coaches, leading to possible employment with Celtic Football Club.

The course includes 10 mandatory units and five options. If a student wants to leave at the end of Year 1 then in order to achieve their HNC they must pass all mandatory units and two options.

Sports development; Human anatomy, physiology and biomechanics in sport; Sports coaching practitioner: knowing yourself; Sports coaching practitioner: knowing others; Sports coaching practitioner: knowing coaching; Sports coaching and development: developing professional practice; Sports coaching and development: graded unit 1; Strength and conditioning; Psychology of sports coaching; Coaching children.

Entry Requirements

1 Higher, or NC Sport and Fitness (Level 6), or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Interview and fitness test.
