This course teaches you the practical skills you need to make sure your live sound is just right in a wide range of live music venues. Starting with the basics of signal flow on analogue desks, you will quickly progress to getting to grips with both analogue and digital mixing desks, microphones, monitors, DI boxes, cables and connectors and ultimately guide you through sound checking and mixing to help you ensure you are getting the best live sound possible.
Course content includes:
Introduction to Live Sound; Health and Safety; Microphone Construction; Understanding Basic Signal Path; Cables and Connectors; Gain Staging; Stage Setup, Mics, Dis, and Stage Monitors; Using Analogue and Digital Mixers; Amps and Speakers (Passive and Active); Sound Checking and Live Mixing
No formal entry requirements, although some experience in basic sound recording and/or live work would be an advantage.
This course allows participants to enhance their knowledge and skills in the subject area which may assist in gaining entry to formal qualifications.
