Content

This course is designed to provide you with opportunities to develop knowledge, understanding and transferable skills in the fields of health and social care.

As part of this course you will take part in a community project/placement which will allow you to appreciate the qualities, attitudes and skills required to work within a care setting.

It will also prepare you for progression on to higher education courses, employment and/or further training within health or social care.

This course comprises of mandatory and optional SQA units including:

Communication; Numeracy; Care: Human Development and Behaviour; Care: Social Influences; Care: Values and Principles; HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C Infections; Working with Individuals with Additional Support Needs; Healthy Eating in a Care Setting; Coping Strategies and Building Resilience; Prevention of Infection; Loss and Grief; Mental Health Issues.

Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 4 including English; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4.
