Core units include:
Social influences; Values and principles; Mental health issues; Introduction to counselling; Human development and behaviour; plus NPA Social Services and Health Care.
There is no placement element to this course.
2 subjects at National 5, English and a social sciences subject preferred. Interview and entry test.

Successful completion may allow students to progress to SVQ 2 SSHC, NC Health and Social Care, HNC Social Services, HNC Additional Support needs. Progression is dependent on a satisfactory PVG check and satisfactory reference from course team.
