Art and Design: Fine Art Portfolio (Level 5)

This robust fine art course will help you to develop the technical and creative skills required to produce a rich and varied portfolio of art within a contemporary context. Using a range of traditional and modern techniques, you will work on projects which integrate art theory with practice. Whether you are planning the next stage in your education, preparing to go to art school or you are returning to art education this is the perfect opportunity to discover how to produce art which is both current and meaningful.

Content includes:
Drawing including observational, expressive and life drawing; Painting in various media; Sculpture – hand building, casting, constructing; Printmaking – screenprinting, etching, mono, colliograph; Art context; Mixed media artwork; Digital media; Sketchbook development; Personal project.

Entry Requirements

2 subjects at National 5. English and Art and Design are preferred but not essential. Interview. Portfolio.

Please note: if you are planning to use this course to apply direct to art school you should have a minimum of two good passes at Higher level.
