Content

Throughout the course you will develop the skills necessary to prepare you for employment in supervisory and management level jobs within the Animal Care industry, as well as gaining the knowledge to run an animal related business of your own.

Over the two year HND course, you will cover a variety of units which take an in-depth look into specialist animal species, animal ethics and genetics as many others. During this time you will also develop research skills.

Content includes: Animals in Society; Animal Care: Ethics; Genetics; Small Animal Breeding; Animal Behaviour; Animal Welfare.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers at CC preferably including English, Maths or Biology plus English, Maths and biology at National 5 (if not held at Higher); or NC Animal Care.

You must have at least 1 week formal work experience within the animal care industry.

Progression Routes

Completion of this HND can provide direct entry to a variety of animal related degree programmes.
