This advanced, part time social care course is ideal if you have a commitment to a career in the Social Care sector and it will enable you to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
The course incorporates three units from SVQ 3 Health & Social Care. The evening sessions are mostly held online although some attendance on campus is required. This can help if you are combining the studies with your working life although you should understand that the programme has a significant practical placement element.

Care in Contemporary Society, Leadership Starts with Me, Health, Wellbeing and Safeguarding, Lifespan Development Theoretical Approaches, Care Practice, Graded Unit, Understanding Loss and the Process of Grief, Understanding and Supporting Behaviour, Mental Health Issues in a Care Setting, Plus 3 SVQ units.
NC Health and Social Care (Level 6); or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6
You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
The course may allow students to progress to University, particularly degree courses in Social Work, and can also lead to progression to mental health nursing.
