This programme allows candidates to follow a similar route as Year 1 of a Modern Apprenticeship. This allows students to explore engineering subjects and practical activities. On completion of this programme, successful candidates may progress to a second year of an apprenticeship programme with a key employer or a full-time course.

Course content includes:
Completion of an NC in Electrical, Mechanical or Measurement and Control Engineering; SVQ at SCQF Level 5 in Performing Engineering Operations.

Entry Requirements

National 5 English, Maths and a science or craft subject. Interview.

Progression Routes

HNC in an engineering discipline or employment.
