Year 1 (HNC): General practice medical administration (Langside campus); Hospital patient administration (Langside campus); IT (word processing, databases, spreadsheets, presentation applications); Office administration; Office technologies; Personal development planning; Financial accounting; Communication; Work experience: medical (Langside campus); Graded unit examination.

Year2 (HND): Office Management; Human Resources; Employment Law; Advanced IT (Word Processing, Database, Spreadsheet); Information and Communication Technology in Business; Developing the Individual within a Team; Work Experience (subject to availability); Presentation Skills, Graded Unit Exam and Project; Possible non-core units include: Customer care, Economics, Business Statistics, Business Start-up and Marketing.

Entry Requirements

1 relevant Higher plus some subjects at National 5. or Foundation Apprenticeship Business Skills, or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Interview.

Progression Routes

3rd year entry to various degree courses at University of the West of Scotland, Glasgow Caledonian University and to other UK universities.

Employment in a wide range of sectors, such as local government, the health service, manufacturing and retail.
