Have you been away from education for some time? Did you leave school without getting the qualifications you wanted? Do you want to come back to education but you’re not sure where to start?

If you are over 25 years old and want to return to education our NQ Adult Return to Study course is designed to support you.

We know it can be daunting to return to education, we are here to help you take that first step. Our focus is you and we will help you in refreshing your basic skills.

Please join us to improve your confidence levels, get key qualifications, access careers guidance, employment opportunities and future learning at the College.

During this NQ Adult Return to Study course, you will cover:

Literacy skills; Numeracy; ICT / administration; Employability skills; Projects; Events planning and experience.

You will have the opportunity to undertake projects and develop the essential skills required to successfully progress to further study or employment.

A personal development and guidance class is included in the course. Your guidance tutor can provide some one-to-one support, to help you progress and meet your full potential. You will also be given support, advice and guidance in planning your future education and career path.

Entry Requirements

This course has no formal entry requirements, however, it is expected that you will have been out of full-time education for a number of years, have relevant life experience and be ready to work towards SCQF level 4 qualifications.

Progression Routes

Previous students have progressed to courses in media, social sciences, design, IT, business, social care, health care, beauty, hairdressing, early education and child care.
