Higher English offers learners the opportunity to develop detailed and complex language skills in the contexts of literature, language and media. You will develop reading and writing skills through studying, analysing and responding to a wide variety of texts. You will learn to understand, analyse and evaluate the way language is used in a wide range of literature and texts and you will develop your own discursive and creative writing skills.
Please note the Stirling course occurrence will run an additional 2-hour evening class which Stirling candidates must attend. This will commence from Thursday 7 February to Thursday 13 May 2019 (6pm - 8pm).
Course content includes:
Two mandatory units and a course assessment; English: Analysis and Evaluation; English: Creation and Production course assessment (exam).
National 5 English at A or B, or equivalent qualification.
This course may provide progression to other qualifications in English or related areas, further study, employment and/or training
