Comprises 7 SQA units as follows: Information and Communication Technology, Supporting the Development of Children and Young People from Birth to 18 Years, Supporting Children and Young People Who Require Additional Support for Learning, Professional Practice in an Educational Setting, Supporting Children and Young People in an Educational Setting, Supporting Language, Literacy and Numeracy in an Educational Setting, Supporting the Behaviour of Children and Young People.
You are required to be working in an education setting but placements can be found by the college. Students must commit to at least half a day a week whilst studying the mandatory units.
You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
A career as an Education Support Assistant or for those who wish to begin working in education.
