This course is for those who want to learn about competing views, perspectives, theories and evidence from social science subjects such as psychology, sociology and philosophy. It's designed to prepare students for university. It is for anyone who has been out of formal education for three years, or five years if they have higher-level or equivalent qualifications.
The course includes:
Social sciences: psychology and sociology. Other subjects such as philosophy, maths, communication, literature, justice system, conferences and debates.
Entry is subject to interview and a pre-entry test.
To meet SWAP eligibility you have to have been out of full time education for at least 3 or 5 years if you already hold level 6 or above qualifications and want to enter a degree programme in social sciences.
HNC Social Sciences. SWAP students may progress to a degree in Humanities. Degree in Primary Teaching.
