UHI Perth is a leading college of further and higher education and serves a wide community, stretching from the River Tay to the Highlands of Perthshire. It is an academic partner of the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI).

There is one main campus and a range of community learning centres across Perth and Kinross.

In the academic session 2020/21, the college had 6,161 students. Of these, 3,525 were full time and 2,636 were part time. There are over 500 staff at the college.

Courses and subjects

The college offers a wide range of qualifications from NC and NQ right through to postgraduate. There is also a range of vocational and professional qualifications.

Subjects are taught in the following subject areas: Business, Leisure and Tourism; Computing and IT; Creative Industries; Education and Childcare; Energy, Engineering and Construction; Health and Wellbeing; Humanities and Social Sciences; and Science and Environment.

Facilities and services

The main campus has a well equipped library including digital resources, and an IT suite with wireless internet, PCs, laptop loan and printing facilities. There is a student union with coffee bar, big screen and comfy furniture.

The multimillion pound Academy of Sport and Wellbeing provides modern training facilities for students of sport and fitness, hairdressing and beauty therapy. There is also a climbing wall, fitness classes, personal training and wellbeing sessions.

There is a student association, HISA (the Highland and Islands Students Association), which organises events throughout the year, including the Freshers’ Fair and Graduation Ball and there is support and guidance staff available to help students with a range of issues.

The college also provides safe, secure and comfortable accommodation in self-catering and fully furnished flats for 75 students on the campus.
