Moray College UHI is a partner college of the University of the Highlands and Islands. It has two main sites in Elgin and a number of local learning centres located in Buckie, Elgin and Forres.
It provides full time, part time and flexible learning opportunities to over 5,000 students.
The college is also home to Moray School of Art, one of Scotland’s five art schools. 2 new independent studios (MAC3 in Elgin and Orchard Road in Forres are run by MSoA graduates.
The Alexander Graham Bell Centre for Digital Health, situated in Elgin, Moray’s historic administrative centre, is a research, education and business hub. The Centre has been designed to bring together the expertise in Digital Health Care and Life Sciences within the region and across Scotland.
Courses and subjects
Courses are available at all levels, from introductory to degree and postgraduate. There is also a range of vocational and industry qualifications.
Subject areas include: Arts, Textiles and Visual Communication; Business, Administration and Accounting; Computing and Digital Media; Construction; Education and Childcare; Engineering; Events; Hairdressing, Beauty and Complementary Therapies; Health and Social Care; Horticulture; Hospitality and Tourism; Performing and Creative Arts; Science and the Environment; Social Sciences; Sport.
Facilities and services
State-of-the-art training facilities for students include a technology centre, with numerous workshops and laboratories for different engineering disciplines, the administration training suite and the hairdressing, beauty and complementary therapy salons. There is a student residence in Elgin with 40 en-suite bedrooms with shared kitchen and living areas, or en-suite studios with cooking facilities.
Study support staff are based at the centre to help with a range of issues.
Moray School of Art is unique in that it is the only semi-rural located art school in Scotland, providing ideal inspiration for students in this subject area. Due to a special partnership with Taigh Chearsabhagh Museum and Arts Centre, fine art students can complete part of their degree on the Uists and part by distance learning.
