Dumfries and Galloway College is located in the south of Scotland. The main campus is situated in Dumfries, with another campus in the town of Stranraer, 75 miles to the west of Dumfries.
In 2021-2022, the college had 1,236 full time and 4,507 part time students.
Courses and subjects
Courses at the college are grouped under a range of different subject areas including: Business and Management; Computing; Construction and the Built Environment; Creative Industries; Early Education and Childcare; Electrical Engineering; Engineering; Green Energy; Hair and Beauty; Health and Social Studies; Hospitality; Motor Vehicle; Sport and Fitness; and Supported Programmes.
Courses lead to a range of qualifications from introductory level to HND. Links with the Universities of Glasgow and the West of Scotland, and the Open University mean there are good progression routes for students.
Facilities and services
Campus facilities and services include a modern library in both campuses with internet access and study spaces, as well as hair and beauty training salons. Both campuses have a joinery workshop. Dumfries Campus has a sports hall and a well equipped fitness suite, and also fully equipped electrical and brick workshops for training.
The college shares the Dumfries Campus with the University of the West of Scotland, the University of Glasgow, the Open University and Scotland’s Rural College.
