Dumfries and Galloway College is located in the south of Scotland. The main campus is situated in Dumfries, with another campus in the town of Stranraer, 75 miles to the west of Dumfries.
The college teaches around 9,000 students every year, of which 15% study full time.
Courses and subjects
Courses at the college are grouped under the following subject areas: Health and Social Services; Early Years and Supported Programmes; Business, Accounting and Computing; Built Environment; Engineering and Automotive; Creative Industries; Hair and Beauty and Hospitality and Sport.
Courses lead to a range of qualifications from introductory level to Higher National Diploma (HND). Links with the Universities of Glasgow and the West of Scotland, and the Open University mean there are good progression routes for students.
Facilities and services
Campus facilities and services include a modern library in both campuses with internet access and study spaces, as well as hair and beauty training salons. Both campuses have a joinery workshop. Dumfries Campus has a sports hall and a well equipped fitness suite, and also fully equipped electrical and brick workshops for training. There is a student association run by students, for students.
The college has a strong articulation links with the University of Glasgow Crichton Campus in Dumfries.
