Content

First Year: German Language studies (translation, spoken classes, aural comprehension, writing in German); Introduction to Languages and Intercultural Studies; Modern History and Culture of Germany. Students also study a second language, and are also be able to take courses such as Psychology, Business Management, or Economics.

Second Year: German Language (including Translation, Liaison and Conference Interpreting), and German Society and Comparative Studies. Students can continue to study a second language or choose from subjects such as British Culture, Economics, Marketing, or Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). Two elective courses are also taken.

Third Year: Third year is spent abroad, either at a University attending classes relevant to your degree, or teaching English in a school.

Fourth Year: Students continue with German language studies, including courses focusing on International Organisations. Students can also study German for Business, German Interpreting, or subjects such as Marketing, Project Management, Business Policy.

2022 entry requirements:
Standard entry: 4 Highers at AABB (two sittings) including German at A plus English at National 5.

Widening access entry: 4 Highers at BBBC (two sittings) including German at B plus English at National 5.
