First Year: French Language studies (translation, spoken classes, aural comprehension, writing in French); Introduction to Languages and Intercultural Studies; Modern History and Culture of France. Students also study a second language, and are also be able to take courses such as Psychology, Business Management, or Economics.
Second Year: French Language (including Translation, Liaison and Conference Interpreting), and French Society and Comparative Studies. Students can continue to study a second language or choose from subjects such as British Culture, Economics, Marketing, or Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). Two elective courses are also taken.
Third Year: Third year is spent abroad, either at a University attending classes relevant to your degree, or teaching English in a school.
Fourth Year: Students continue with French language studies, including courses focusing on International Organisations. Students can also study French for Business, French Interpreting, or subjects such as Marketing, Project Management, Business Policy.
2022 entry requirements:
Standard entry: 4 Highers at AABB (two sittings) including French at A plus English at National 5.
Widening access entry: 4 Highers at BBBC (two sittings) including French at B plus English at National 5.
