This course is designed to provide you with the clinical knowledge, understanding and vocational skills to prepare you for undergraduate degree programmes in Nursing, Health and other related fields. You may also qualify to work at Senior Health Care Support Worker level in a care or hospital setting.
This course includes a clinical placement.
Units include: Essential Skills for Care Professionals; Graded Unit; Individual Pathways in Health and Social Care; Learning Through Practice; Understanding Personal and Professional Development; Physiology for Care Professionals; Principles of Professional Practice; Therapeutic Relationships: Understanding Behaviour; Safe Working Practice for Care; Sociology for Care Practice.
2 Highers preferably including English plus National 5 Maths preferred, or NC or NQ at Level 6 in a health or care related area, or Swap Access to Nursing. Interview.

Access to year 2 of the nursing degree at Glasgow Caledonian University or the University of Stirling, degrees in nursing and allied professions, including the paramedic degree, or employment in the NHS at the Senior Health Care Support Worker level.
