Outer Hebrides Campus
The focus is on experiencing the salon environment and learning about the various responsibilities and vocational skills required for employment/self-employment. This is done through the students operating their own Open Salon within the college, which in turn gives them the experience of running a business. Emphasis is also placed on the employability skills and attitudes required for the workplace and where possible Work Experience is undertaken in partnership with the local salons.
Skills will be developed in -
Selling Skills; Shampooing, Conditioning and Scalp Massage; Blow Drying Techniques; Mix, Apply and Remove Colour; Setting and Winding Techniques for Hair; Skills for Work.
Core skills will be included within the course programme.
NQ Hair and Beauty (Level 4). Interview, portfolio and practical test.
