This innovative 18-week course covers the skills required to be an assistant in a hairdressing salon. You will take part in practical sessions working with clients and theory classes covering the knowledge required to complete all written work and e-assessments.

You will work in our salons and studios providing a realistic industry environment which will give you valuable practical experience. You will work as a team with other students preparing and delivering hairdressing services including shampooing, conditioning, blow-drying and removing colour as well as with your own clients. Whilst working in our professional salon environment you will use high-end equipment and products on paying clients to enhance your employment prospects. You will also assist in the reception areas of the salon and be provided with up to date training in new innovations and techniques with leading product manufacturers and hairdressers.
Course includes:
Preparing for the Salon Environment; Services Shampoo and Condition Hair; Working as a Team Member; Blow-Drying; Assisting with Colouring; Plait and Twist using Basic Techniques.
3 subjects at National 4. You will be invited for interview which will include a practical trade test and written task.
