This course will give you the skills, knowledge and experience to manage trees and woodlands in an urban setting, such as towns and parks.
Core Units:
Employment and health and safety legislation for the land based industries; Arboriculture practice; Arboricultural: amenity tree management; Forestry: forest science; Work supervision practice; Arboriculture and urban forestry: Graded Unit 1; Selection and management of machinery for land based industries.
Option units may include:
Woodland nursery production; Soil management; Forestry: woody plant biology; Communication: practical skills; Job costing and business calculations; Leadership of countryside activities.
2 Highers, or Forestry Certificate, or Woodland Operations (NPA)
HND Arboriculture and Urban Forestry and then to BSc Hons Forest Management
