In year 1 there is a mandatory 80 hours of work experience that can be carried out throughout the year - excellent on-the-job training to prepare you for your future career. There will be opportunities for you to participate in a programme of visits to hotels and other businesses operating within the Hospitality/Events industry - these visits will give you further insight into the hospitality industry. There are also opportunities for you to take part in competition work and you are encouraged to take advantage of the many volunteering opportunities available to you as an HND hospitality student.

Year 2 will cover a range of management topics: Managing Financial Resources, Human Resource Management , Accommodation Management and Management of Food and Beverage Operations. In addition there will be specialist units such as Alcoholic Beverages and Hospitality Management Accounting. The course will ensure you are well prepared to progress onto further training opportunities at degree level or into employment.
