Years 1 and 2: study core mathematical subjects including calculus, geometry, probability and statistics and introductory classes in your business specialism offered by the Strathclyde Business School.

Years 3 and 4: choose from a range of mathematics and statistics classes from one or more of the specialist application areas; the Honours-year project may be within your business subject or Mathematics or Statistics. Accounting options include auditing, business law, cost accounting, economics, Information systems and taxation; Economics options include econometrics, econometric theory, macroeconomics, microeconomics, health economics, industrial economics, and economics of competitive strategy; Finance options include Business Finance, Financial Markets, Portfolio Theory, Security Analysis, and Treasury Management; Business Analysis options include resource Planning, Simulation and Operations Management Decision-Making.

Entry Requirements

2025 entry requirements

Standard entry:
4 or 5 Highers at AABB or ABBBC including Maths at A and English. Advanced Higher Maths preferred.

Widening access entry:
4 Highers at ABBB including Maths at A and English, or BBBB including Maths and English plus 70% in Strathclyde Summer School Mathematics.

For entry to year 2 you would require 3 Advanced Highers at AAB including Maths and Accounting or Economics at AA.

A Foundation Apprenticeship is accepted in place of a non-essential Higher.
