It will equip you with contemporary knowledge to take forward the rapidly changing healthcare agenda, and make a positive difference.
Suited to experienced Nurses looking to gain contemporary knowledge to take forward the rapidly changing primary care agenda. A critical, innovative and reflective approach to addressing the healthcare needs of individuals, families, carers, groups and communities.
You need to be sponsored/supported by an NHS Board in order to meet the requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) for practice assessment.
You can exit after Stage 1 with PgCert Advanced Nursing Practice - District Nursing.
You can exit after Stage 2 with PgDip Advanced Nursing Practice - District Nursing.
The minimum entry requirement for this programme will normally be an honours degree or its equivalent. In addition, because of the work based nature of the programme, all students must be working in clinical practice or sponsored by a Health Board and have access to a practice teacher/ practice facilitator.
District Nursing route: requires you to be a registered adult nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council on part 1 of the register, and have had the opportunity to consolidate your pre-registration nurse education. Acceptance is based on receiving an acceptable references.
You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
