This course gives you an introduction to the basic principles of product design. You’ll gain a foundation in the creative, research, technical and analytical skills required of a professional product designer.

The course is taught by creative tutors with many years’ experience in art and product design. You have the opportunity to prepare a professional design portfolio which can be used to progress your career in the industry. You’ll also be encouraged to think about the way people live as well as the social, cultural and technical factors that influence the product design industry.

The course attracts a diverse group of learners from younger students moving on from school as well as those returning to education. This is a practical project-based course where you'll use your creativity and knowledge to work on a range of product design briefs using 2D and 3D Computer Assisted Drawing programmes.




Entry Requirements

English and Art and Design at National 5. A portfolio of your work is required. All applicants will be invited for interview.
