The MLitt in Russian Studies offers students the opportunity to deepen your knowledge of the interrelated fields of Russian literature, film, culture and history to the present day. Students are taught by internationally acclaimed academics with an exceptionally wide range of expertise, including comparative literature, literary theory, poetry, crime fiction, gothic, realism, cultural memory, film, Russian avant-garde, Russian and Soviet theatre, celebrity, gender and queer theory in Russia.
Russian studies may be taken as a single-subject pathway within the MLitt, or you can combine it with one of five other pathways:
- French studies
- German studies
- Italian studies
- Middle Eastern literary and cultural studies (Arabic and Persian)
- Spanish and Latin American studies.
2:1 Honours degree in Russian or a similar course of academic study with substantial course components in the area of Russian studies. Secondary pathway subjects cannot be taken at beginner's level.
