Successful entrants are expected to pursue a career as an Apprentice Electrical Engineer or Apprentice Electrician. Alternatively it may be possible to progress onto a HNC Engineering course such as HNC Electrical, Engineering Systems, or Electronics.

This course qualifies the student for a National Certificate in Engineering Systems at SCQF Level 5. Curriculum includes: Electrical Wiring Skills; Practical Electronics; Transformers and Rectifiers; Energy: An Introduction; Electrical Principles; Craft Maths Level 1 and 2; Engineering Systems Principles; Engineering Systems Test and Measure.

Entry Requirements

National 5 English, Maths and a science or technological subject, or SVQ Pre-Apprentice Engineering: Performing Engineering Operations at SCQF Level 5. Entry subject to interview.
