This engineering systems course covers the fundamental principles of engineering. It will equip you with the knowledge and understanding required for further study or work as an apprentice in engineering.

Mandatory units:
Communication Core Skill Unit; Mathematics: Craft 1; Engineering: Using Information Technology; Engineering System Principles; Engineering Systems: Test and Measurement; Engineering Systems: Applications.

Restricted units:
Engineering Materials; Graphical Engineering Communications.

Optional units:
Mechanical Engineering Principles; CAD for Engineers; Health and Safety Engineering; Engineering dynamics: An introduction.

Entry Requirements

4 subjects at National 5 including Maths and science or technological subject, or Foundation Apprenticeship Engineering, or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5.

Applications are also invited from those without formal qualifications but who have relevant life and/or work experience. An aptitude test and short interview may be required for this course.
