The engineering systems course is ideal if you already work in engineering industry and want to progress towards professional engineering status. It develops skills and competence to a higher level across a wide rand of modern engineering systems including electrical, mechanical and mechatronic systems.

Subjects include:
Application of Programmable Logic Controllers; Communication: Practical Skills; Electrical Machine Principles; Engineering Communication; Engineering Measurement and Systems Monitoring; Engineering Mathematics 1; Engineering Mathematics 2; Mechatronic System Elements; Principles of Engineering Systems; DC and AC Principles; Three Phase Systems; Engineering Systems: Graded Unit 1 Examination; Business Awareness and CPD; Design for Manufacture; Engineering Practical Skills; Engineering Systems Analysis: System Modelling and Control; Principles of Safe Engineering Systems; Project Management; Statics and Strength of Materials; Dynamics; Thermofluids; Engineering Mathematics 3; Engineering Mathematics 4; Engineering Mathematics 5; Engineering Systems Graded Unit 2 – Project Based.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers from English, Maths, Physics or a science or technological subject. An NC in an appropriate discipline. Applications are also invited from those without formal qualifications but who have relevant life and/or work experience. Entry subject to interview and aptitude test.
