Following the increase of government investment in the infrastructure of electric vehicle charging, this course offers electricians the opportunity to learn how to install electrical vehicle charging points in compliance with BS 7671 and the new IET Code of Practice.

This course is suitable for practicing electricians interested in understanding how to install the range of equipment and systems available and includes exclusive guidance on electrical requirements. It will provide learners with the essential skills required to install electrical vehicle charging points in public, private and commercial locations including:

Design and installation; Inspection and testing; Commissioning and handover.

All the above is delivered in compliance with BS 7671 and the new IET Code of Practice. You will be assessed by an on-line multiple choice test and a practical assignment.

Cost includes training, exam fee and the IET Code Of Practice For Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation (3rd Edition).

Entry Requirements

Applicants must have : The current City and Guilds 18th Edition; 2391-52 Inspection and Testing. Verification must be provided at time of booking.

In order to undertake this course candidates require access to the following materials:
18th Edition Regulations book (Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671:2018); Learning Guide 1: IET Wiring Regulations BS7671 18th Edition; Guidance Note 3: Inspection & Testing, 8th Edition.
