Manual machining turning/milling, CAD, CNC (Computer Numerical Controlled Machining) and hand fitting. Theory includes health and safety; working as part of a team, reading and understanding engineering drawings and diagrams and core skills of literacy, Numeracy, IT and communication.

Entry Requirements

Maths and a science subject at National 4 or 5 preferred. Interview and written test.

Progression Routes

Employment in the manufacturing industry in sectors such as, Aerospace, Oil and Gas, Automotive, Food and Drink etc. as an apprentice machine operator or CNC operator or progression to higher level courses
