Content

Designed to meet the needs of the engineering sector, including the emerging, renewable and decommissioning industries as well as the more traditional manufacturing, maintenance and oil and gas sectors, this course provides candidates with the skills needed to start a career in fabrication and welding.

Content includes:

Manual Metal Arc and Metal Arc Gas Shielded welding processes, thermal cutting, fabrication, hand fitting techniques. Plus supporting theory and practice with regards to health and safety; team working, reading and interpreting drawings and diagrams. Core skill areas of literacy, Numeracy, IT are also covered.

Entry Requirements

Maths and a science subject at National 4 or 5 preferred. Interview and written test.
