Edinburgh Campus
First Year: First Year: students study modules that are common across the Programme. It is intended to give students an introduction into the civil engineering industry.
Second Year: Second Year: expands on the basics of the First Year:, with subjects such as Advanced Calculus, Geology and Hydraulics.
Third Year: The Third Year: is concerned with engineering principles - structural steel and concrete design, environmental topics and structures.
Fourth Year: Is taken at a host institution abroad either in Europe or North America, as part of an exchange programme.
Fifth Year: Students study transportation engineering, as well as exploring geotechnics and structures in more depth. There are also options in this year, allowing students to specialise.
2020 entry requirements:
Standard entry: 4 or 5 Highers at AABB or ABBBB including Maths plus English at National 5.
Widening access entry: 4 Highers at BBBC including Maths at B plus English at National 5.
For entry to Level 2 you would require 2 Advanced Highers at BB including Maths plus 4 or 5 Highers at AABB or ABBBB.
