Content

This course provides transferable core skills, foundation skills and workshop training for those who aspire to a career in electrical installation work. It also provides a pathway to advanced levels of study.

Content includes:
Communication Skills; Information Technology; Mathematics; Electrical Principles; Fundamental Electrical Systems; Electrical Testing and Measurement; Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations; Installation of Conduit Systems; Installation of PVC Sheathed Wiring Systems; Installation of Trunking Systems; Installation of Cable Tray and MI Systems; Earthing and Earth Fault Current Protection; Programmable Logic Controllers; Cable Ratings and Overcurrent Protection Devices.

Entry Requirements

National 5 English, Maths and a science or technological subject; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. Applicants who do not meet these criteria, but have relevant experience or alternative qualifications, will be considered. Selection by two stage interview.
