This course provides a wide range of core and engineering skills in measurement and control engineering enabling successful students to progress to advanced level study.

Content:
Communications; Mathematics; Measurement Systems 1 and 2; Distributed Control Systems; Metering Systems; Process Control; Complex Control Systems; Digital Communications in Measurement and Control; Application of PLCs; Advanced PLC's; Intelligent Instrumentation; Instrumentation in Hazardous Areas; Computer Control of Engineering Systems; Safe Instrumentation Systems ; Process Analysers ; Fire and Gas Detection; Transmission of Measurement Signals; Process Instrumentation: Practical Skills; Control System Behaviour; High Level Engineering Software.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers including Maths and a science or technological subject; or Foundation Apprenticeship Engineering; or a relevant national qualification at SCQF Level 6 or above. Interview.
