This course enables you to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills required to gain employment in childcare at support level.
The course also prepares you for entry to the HNC Childhood Practice course. The course covers the years from birth to 12.
You will also go on placement to help you build links between theory and practice.

Units will include: Developing an Understanding of Working with Children; Holistic Approaches to Child Health; Supporting a Curriculum; Supporting Language and Literacy; Child Development; Developmental Theory; Play; Supporting Children’s Behaviour; Placement experience.
4 subjects at National 5 (2 at B) including English; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5.
