Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)


The course consists of modules, each module requiring 150 hours of student activity. The degree follows four themes through each level: Early years, continuum to adolescence, personal effectiveness and changing society, changing practice.

The course is designed to be studied online with attendance at an induction week in September as the only college attendance required as an introduction to the course and the technology. Weekly meetings with student advisors in Thurso, Alness or Wick are available.

There are three levels for degree graduation and four for Honours.

Entry Requirements

3 Highers at C or above; or Foundation Apprenticeship Social Services (Children and Young People) PLUS 1 additional Higher. You are required to attend an interview.

Progression Routes

Graduates could apply for a range of postgraduate qualifications, e.g. in Social Work and Teaching
