This course will provide the underpinning knowledge, skills and expertise to attain the additional dental nursing qualifications outlined in the General Dental Councils Scope of Practice.

This course includes a practice placement within a dental setting to develop enhanced skills, knowledge and expertise. Within the dental practice learners will fully engage with patients as they take radiographs, provide oral health advice, take responsibility for health and safety and undertake some management responsibilities.

Entry Requirements

HNC Dental Nursing. Participation at an information session, skills assessment and interview forms part of the selection criteria. You must be registered with the General Dental Council.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.

You will be required to be immunised in line with Occupational Health's recommendation.
