This course gives you the chance to take the first step into the world of professional broadcasting. You will explore how TV and radio programmes are put together, the production processes, and creative decisions.
Working in teams, you will tackle a range of practical projects that will enable you to build a basic production portfolio. There is also an analytical component which will give you an overview of how the creative industries work and the kind of jobs that are available in those industries – you can start planning your future, confident that you have a broad-ranging foundation for further study in your chosen field.
Areas of study include television, video production, radio, sound, lighting, editing, scriptwriting, photography, animation, advertising, research skills and production management. At the end of the year, you will have built a portfolio of work that will stand you in good stead when applying for further study at HNC/D level.

Making a radio programme; Scriptwriting; Understanding the creative process; Advertising; The Media Industry; Video Production; Video Editing; Video Lighting; Digital Photography.
