Sound production is an exciting career combining science, technology, engineering and creativity. Sound is arguably the most important production component in music, film, television, radio and the computer, media and games industries. To be successful in the world of sound production you need a broad range of creative technology knowledge and skills which we will help you develop.

You will study: Sound engineering and production; Digital audio workstations including Ableton and Pro-Tools; Audio signal path: from input to output and how to get the best results; Sound design; Digital DJ skills; Creative projects; Introduction to the UK music industry; Appreciation of music; Music remixing; Synthesis and sampling.

Entry Requirements

2 subjects at National 5, preferably including English and Music or Music Technology; or 4 subjects at National 4 including English and preferably Music, Music Technology, Art and Design or a science subject; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. Interview and skills test.
